Ms. Kramer began her career as Deputy Public Defender in rural Columbus, Nebraska, but soon returned to Lincoln to open her own law firm specializing in criminal defense, juvenile law, and general civil litigation. Never deterred by seeming impossibilities, Ms. Kramer took on challenging, sometimes seemingly unwinable cases, with a marked level of success. See more . . . While in Nebraska, she also worked as a Special Prosecutor for a pilot project for enhanced detection and prosecution of crimes against children on the Omaha Indian Reservation. This entailed coordinating investigative and prosecution efforts with local, state, and federal agencies, including the FBI, BIA, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the Child Protection Center in Sioux City, Iowa. She successfully prosecuted cases and increased real jail time served by offenders. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Kramer was actively involved with the Nebraska State Bar Association, including working on the Ethics Committee and the Judiciary Committee, the Sale of Law Practice Subcommittee, Gender/Bias Subcommittee, and the Bench/Bar Conference Program Committees for 1997, 1998, and 1999. She was also appointed to a subcommittee studying judicial pay equity by Justice Inbody of the Nebraska Supreme Court. Ms. Kramer also co-authored two criminal prosecution manuals for the Nebraska County Attorney’s Association – Nebraska Prosecutor’s Deskbook, 3rd Edition (published in 1996) and The Prosecutor’s Traffic Manual, 3rd Edition (published in 1994). In 1999, Ms. Kramer returned to California and turned her focus to general civil litigation. She has handled a diverse caseload in state and federal courts including patent infringement litigation, general business litigation, construction law, personal injury (plaintiff and defense), and transactional work. She is capable of taking on diverse litigation projects because of her history of strategic partnerships with other lawyers and law firms working in concert to obtain the best results for her clients. |
